Installation

How to download and install Cluttered on your Mac.

System Requirements

Before installing Cluttered, make sure your system meets these requirements:

  • macOS 12 (Monterey) or later
  • Apple Silicon or Intel processor
  • 50 MB free disk space
  • No admin privileges required

Download

You can download Cluttered in two formats:

  1. Download the DMG from our download page
  2. Open the downloaded .dmg file
  3. Drag Cluttered to your Applications folder
  4. Eject the DMG

ZIP

  1. Download the ZIP from our download page
  2. Extract the archive
  3. Move Cluttered.app to your Applications folder

First Launch

When you first open Cluttered, macOS may show a warning because the app was downloaded from the internet.

If you see "App can't be opened"

  1. Right-click (or Control-click) on Cluttered.app
  2. Select "Open" from the context menu
  3. Click "Open" in the dialog

This only needs to be done once. After that, you can open Cluttered normally.

Granting Permissions

Cluttered needs access to your filesystem to scan for development artifacts.

When prompted:

  1. Click "Allow" to grant disk access
  2. You may need to go to System Preferences → Security & Privacy → Full Disk Access
  3. Enable Cluttered in the list

Verifying Installation

Once installed, you can verify everything is working:

  1. Open Cluttered
  2. Click "Scan"
  3. You should see a list of detected projects
